Samsung's new portable Hardisk T3 supports USB Type C

Samsung has just announced a new version of its sleek external storage system: the Portable SSD T3.

The device has learned a few new tricks, now going up to 2TB capacity, along with 250GB, 500GB, and 1TB models. The T3 weighs in at a bit under 2 ounces, and measures 2.9 inches long. Samsung also says the drive is especially shock resistant this time around, able to withstand a drop of 2 meters.

The T3 now supports a USB 3.1 Type C connection (as well as 2.0 and 3.0), with promised read-write speeds of up to 450MB per second. If you're looking to manage your storage on the go, Samsung says it's also offering a new companion Android app.
